Fund Management What is the scope of use of the research funds?
There are no particular restrictions on the use of research funds by the Foundation as long as they are used for research activities (labor, material, equipment, etc.). Details shall be discussed per the Foundation's operating guidelines and affiliated organization's regulations.

Fund Management For a multi-year project, can research funds that is not used in the first year be carried over to the next year?
After settling research funds each year, the remaining amount may be transferred to the following year.
However, after the research period is over, any unused research fund balance shall be returned to the Foundation.

Fund Management How are the allocated funds delivered and executed?
Research funds are delivered and executed through the affiliated institution at the beginning of December every year per the affiliated institution and foundation's standards and procedures.

They are expected to manage research funds autonomously and responsibly without violating research ethics.
Regulations of affiliated institutions shall be observed regarding the submission of evidence.

Project Management We are already receiving funds for the research projects to be applied from other organizations, or they are currently under review. Can we apply for this research fund with the same project?
No. it is not eligible to apply for the funds with the same project. This fellowship programs highly value creativity.
If it is discovered that the same topic was applied, the entire research fund supported shall be refunded.

Project Management What should I do if there is a change in the number of participating researchers during the research period?
Consult with the Foundation as changes in staffing may affect the sustainability of research.

Project Management Can I change the research plan initially submitted?
In principle, the research plan cannot be altered. However, if unavoidable, changes must be approved by the Foundation. In the event of an arbitrary suspension or plan change, the entire research fund shall be refunded.

Project Management What happens if the research cannot be continued due to physical or mental disabilities or other unavoidable reasons?
A written reason for discontinuing research and supporting documents must be submitted to the Foundation for approval. Out of the total research funds for the applicable year, the amount equivalent to the remaining days of the research period calculated on a daily basis shall be returned to the Foundation.

Project Management What happens when the research project ends?
The researcher or team must submit a final report to the Foundation within one month of completing the research project. When the report is not delivered, the fact is notified to the affiliated institution. After reviewing the reasons for non-submission, all or part of the research fund shall be refunded.

Project Management Do I submit interim reports in the middle of the research?
For research projects due in less than one year, the final report must be submitted within one month of completing the research without an interim report. For multi-year projects, a research report must be submitted one month before the end of the first and the second year after the start of the research period. After evaluating the research report, the Foundation notifies whether to support the following year's research fund within one month from the date of submission. A final report must be submitted within one month of completing the research period.
