Award-winning achievements

Professor Seok-bok Jang is Korea’s top authority on catalytic organic reactions and is internationally recognized as the top-class researcher in this area.

In particular, his recently published research on catalytic reactions that can efficiently synthesize the lactam structure solved a complex problem of the past 30 years. This study could be used as an essential means of synthesis in various areas, such as organic synthesis, medical chemistry, and materials science. He is also studying applied organic molecule synthesis leading the research team of the Institute for Basic Science in Korea since 2012.

Professor Seok-bok Jang made excellent achievements in catalytic organic reactions and teaching students. In recognition of his outstanding achievements, he was selected as a winner.
